MARLON CELESTINE (In His own words)

After DJing at various Prince club and boat parties around the country I finally settled in a small club off Oxford Street in 1994 and played there for two years before moving on to co-pilot the Mukatsuku nights with the world famous Nik Weston.

This lead to various other club nights and events but the weekly West End Tuesday night specialised in all things funk, with a wide selection of Minneapolis Sound including the music of Prince, The Time, Sheila E and the more recognisable associates like The Family to the lesser known ones as well. Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown and rare out-takes from the Prince vaul are usually and essential part to the set.

When I play I am always striving to tell the history of a genre with great records that will put a smile on your face and keep your body moving, whether it be funk, hip-hop or house. I specialise in vinyl only sets but I may have to make an exception for CLF.

Runs: 9pm-1am every Saturday
